Students will engage in different STEM, art, and puzzle-type challenges including high interest topics to practice and generalize the skills addressed in the social skills instruction.

Who
I am
I have been immersed in special education since I started as a paraprofessional over 10 years ago. Through working with a particular student that changed my life, I realized I have a gift of connecting to the most unique students. I was inspired to get my bachelors of arts in special education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
I spent 7 years teaching special education at the elementary and middle school levels. During that time, I received additional training and endorsements in the areas of autism from the University of Wilmington, Dyslexia through Bowman’s Orton Gillignham Plus and Wilson Reading System, and am pursuing a graduate degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix. I was a mentor teacher, school improvement team member, and team leader for the special education department. Edtech has always been central to my practice and I have additional training in Artificial Intelligence and Apple products. I have a deep understanding of considering sensory and cognitive profiles to develop meaningful, engaging instruction! Society needs to move away from trying to change our kids and to embrace and build on their neurological gifts!
I left public schools in 2026 to pursue a greater dream: The MINDS Cooperative, which provides desperately needed, comprehensive, private special education services and supports to families on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Virginia, and Southern Delaware.
First hand experience has shown me that our schools still need a lot more time to provide truly inclusive, neuroaffirming practices. Those with disabilities are particularly underserved due to limited understanding of how impactful embracing neurodiversity can be! I am here to bridge the gap between what your child needs and what our public schools can feasibly offer.
